George Sampson, the 15 year old dancer from Warrington, won Britain's Got Talent in 2008.
George first competed in Britain's Got Talent in 2007, and while getting through the auditions proved to be a breeze for the teenager, he failed to make the selection process for the finals.
Proving to be a fighter, however, as he returned more fired up before for the 2008 competition. That year he proved to be a worthy competitor, and in the end beat fellow contestants Signature, a dancing duo from London, and Andrew Johnston, a boy soprano from Carlisle, into second and third place respectively.
Britain's Got Talent was a great launching platform for Sampson as more performing opportunities presented themselves, after performing at the Royal Variety Performance. Simon Cowell (the owner of 'Syco', the label that managed Sampson) wanted there to be more to the act than just dancing, and enlisted the agent of Take That to help bring singing to the routines. As it turned out however, George already wanted to sing and in November 2008 released his first single under the SyCo label - 'Get Up on the Dance Floor'. The single debuted at number 30 in the UK charts, and remained on the radar for a month after that.
George then released a dance DVD - 'Access 2 All Areas' in which, in addition to showcasing his dancing talents, he instructs on how to perform the dance moves that took him to winning the final of Britain's Got Talent 2008.
