Paul Potts - the opera singer from Bristol who, before entering 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2007, was an employee at Carphone Warehouse, won the first series of the talent scouting show.
He wowed the judges, aswell as shocking the audience, as he revealed a talent that no one was expecting. The opera singer then stormed his way through the competition, and won the title of Britain's most talented.
After winning BGT, Paul then performed at the Royal Variety Performance infront of the Queen and the viewing nation.
His debut album, 'One Chance' surpassed all predictions, as it shot to the number one spot in 15 countries, proving that his performance on the show had earned him worldwide notariety, and of course popularity. In January 2008, Paul set off on a world tour, with 55 scheduled dates at the outset. However as time progressed, more dates were added to satisfy the demand for his performances. He completed a worldwide tour comprising of over 100 sold-out venues.
In June 2009, Paul released his second album - Passione, which reached to number 5 in the UK charts. The success of his second album proved his popularity with the public was still strong, and the crowds were still enjoying Paul Potts' music.
